POLs

So, POLs (Presentations Of Learning,) are coming up this week. For Juniors such as myself, this means that we have very loose guidelines as to what they have to be about. But here is what we will be graded on during our POLs:

Delivery: Student speaks clearly; uses academic, appropriate language; has good eye contact; students' presentation aims to engage the audience by being organized and rehearsed

Content: Student makes a strong case for why her "job" of being an 11th grader should be retained; student demonstrates critical thinking and creativity in her approach to the assignment

Evidence: Student backs up claims with evidence from DP, work samples, illustrative anecdotes; Student clearly states connections between the evidence and the claim of job performance

Reflection: An authentic discussion about job performance; acknowledges both strengths and weaknesses with respect to thier own individual job preformance and overal character

Question and Answer: Questions are answered honestly and thoughtfully; responses are relevant to the question asked
